People of all ages can be baptized at FUMC. Nonmembers are encouraged to seek membership. We baptize by sprinkling Holy Water and inviting the presence of the Holy Spirit. To schedule your baptism or learn more, contact Reverend David Bonney
Confirmation is an important part of our journey of faith and an important time in the life of the church for students in 7th-12th grade. It is the time when one takes ownership of their faith and decides if they are ready to make a public commitment to love God, follow Christ, participate in the life of the church, and join in God’s missional work in the word. Confirmation is about helping create a foundation for a lifetime of discipleship. Here at Fairfax UMC it is our joy to journey with each confirmand, surround them with love, and to help youth discover what it means to claim the name Christian. Click here to learn more.
Fairfax United Methodist Church welcomes nonmembers as well as members for their wedding at FUMC. Our wedding ceremonies are services of worship that are beautiful and dignified; with an underlying sense of joy and reverence. Before the ceremony, the bride and groom are required to complete Prepare/Enrich, a standardized marriage inventory online, meet with the officiating pastor for three pre-marital counseling sessions. For scheduling and more details, contact the wedding coordinator, Phyllis Fadely, or call the church.
When the death has occurred, our pastors and staff are honored to provide the service for your loved one here at the church, at the funeral home or graveside depending on the family’s decision. Christ is our hope for eternal life and we offer this hope to the surviving family and friends that their beloved is now in God’s eternal charge. To schedule a funeral or learn more, contact Pastor David Bonney. If you wish to plan a funeral in advance, we invite you to fill out our funeral pre-planning worksheet and send it to the church to be kept on file.
