Children are a Gift from God

We are here for your children all year. Below are ways your children can become more involved in their relationship with God, peers and this congregation. For more information, contact Angela Schroeder, Director of Children’s Ministries.

Grow Curriculum

The Grow Curriculum was created by kids’ pastors with a goal to help kids grow spiritually by teaching and discussing Scripture in developmentally appropriate ways.  The Grow scope and sequence will take kids through every significant Bible story in three years. We spend an equal amount of time in the Old and New Testaments.

Kids’ Ministry Events

Fall Family Fest | October 30, 1:00–3:00pm

Due to rain on the 16th, the church has rescheduled the event to October 30th from 1-3pm. There are lots of fun activities, including decorating pumpkins, playing fun games for prizes, and enjoying some fall treats. Hopefully, this new date brings a beautiful fall day to reconnect and share fun together! If you can volunteer for this event, please sign up by clicking here: link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F49A9AA23A5FAC70-fall. If you have questions, contact Angela at aschroeder@fairfaxumc.org.

Sunday Morning Kids Ministry

The church is happy to announce that FUMC is once again offering programming for kids during our 9:30 worship service starting October 17. Kids, who are in preschool through sixth grade, are invited to meet our new director and enjoy faith and friendship together. If you plan on bringing your children at some point during this school year, please take time to fill out the form at this link to help for better planning and staffing this new ministry. If you have a heart for kids and want to support the faith development of the next generation of believers, please contact Angela Schroeder at aschroeder@fairfaxumc.org.

For Parents

As caregivers sometimes, it may be tricky to find ways to help kids spend time with God on their own, in an age-appropriate way. Here are few ways:

  • Use a good Bible translation
  • Teach kids ways to pray throughout the day
  • Play kid-friendly worship songs
