Children are a Gift from God

We are here for your children all year. Below are ways your children can become more involved in their relationship with God, peers and this congregation. For more information, contact Angela Schroeder, Director of Children’s Ministries.

Want to get involved? If you have a heart for kids and want to support the faith development of the next generation of believers, please contact Angela Schroeder at aschroeder@fairfaxumc.org.

Sunday Morning Kids Ministry

This summer, FUMC Kids Ministry is Making Waves! Every week during the 9:30am Sunday morning service, kids in preschool through sixth grade are invited to join us on the third floor to enjoy games, activities, videos, music, and more as we learn about Making Waves in God’s Kingdom. When you arrive on Sunday morning, enter the building through the doors under the portico by the parking lot. Then take the stairs on your left or the elevator down the hall to the third floor. Drop off and pick up are in Room 303.

Kids Ministry Events

Family Picnic in the Park | Saturday, May 14, 12–2pm

Bring the whole family for a community picnic in Van Dyke Park’s Lower Pavilion on May 14. From noon to 2pm, we’ll grill up some food and play yard games as we reach out to the community. Most of the food will be provided, but feel free to bring a dish to share if you like. If you have any lawn chairs or lawn games (like corn hole), we invite you to bring those too. Hope to see you there!

Making Waves Camp

Every other Thursday | June 16–August 11 | Preschool – Second Grade

This drop-off camp meets every other Thursday at 9:00–11:00am and is open for kids in preschool through second grade. Registration is required, and spots are limited. Click here to sign up!

For Parents

As caregivers sometimes, it may be tricky to find ways to help kids spend time with God on their own, in an age-appropriate way. Here are few ways:

  • Use a good Bible translation
  • Teach kids ways to pray throughout the day
  • Play kid-friendly worship songs
