SUMMARY:Genesis Bible Study
DESCRIPTION:After spending the last two years in the New Testament\, studying the Gospels and Acts\, we are going back to the beginning this fall with a Bible Study on Genesis. We will walk through the ancient stories of early creation\, examine the choice of Abraham to become the founding member of God’s people\, and follow God’s promises through the patriarchs and their families. In the process\, we will learn about who God is and who we are as God’s people in the world. Please join us as we study this foundational first book of the Bible this fall. The group meets at 11:00am on Wednesdays\, September 18–October 23.

SUMMARY:Helping Hands Fest
DESCRIPTION:In the last two years\, people of all ages have gathered together for our fall service events\, first packing flood buckets for those affected by hurricanes and then assembling over 31\,000 meals for people in Honduras and at our local food banks. This year we will gather on Saturday\, October 19\, at 10:30am\, to make three different types of kits to help children in the hospital\, children facing food insecurity\, and adults in need. We will also have stations to make cards to bring comfort to those often isolated in our community. Afterward\, we’ll all celebrate with lunch. This is a great opportunity for all ages to serve our community. To help us plan\, we ask that you click here and RSVP for the event. DESCRIPTION:Fairfax UMC offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for beginner and intermediate-level English language learners throughout the year. We also offer a Citizenship Class to prepare students for the U.S. Citizenship test. The Spring 2024 ESL session runs January 17–April 3. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00–9:00pm.
