DESCRIPTION:During the June 7 worship service\, Fairfax UMC celebrates those in our community who are graduating from high school\, college or advanced degrees\, trade school\, or similar programs. If one of your family members graduates this year and you would like Fairfax UMC to recognize that person\, please send a photo and information to Sarah Pennington at spennington@fairfaxumc.org. Your email should include a photo of the graduate\, the graduate’s name as you would like it shown on the screens\, and what program the graduate has completed. You can also include the graduate’s job or college plans. Graduate photographs and information must be received by Sunday\, May 31 to appear in the service. We look forward to celebrating these milestones together as a church family and praying over these graduates’ future endeavors.

Subs will be ready for pickup following the church service on Sunday\, February 8\, and we will have some extra ingredients available to make more subs on pickup day (while supplies last). SUMMARY:Helping Hands Fest
DESCRIPTION:In the last two years\, people of all ages have gathered together for our fall service events\, first packing flood buckets for those affected by hurricanes and then assembling over 31\,000 meals for people in Honduras and at our local food banks. This year we will gather on Saturday\, October 19\, at 10:30am\, to make three different types of kits to help children in the hospital\, children facing food insecurity\, and adults in need. We will also have stations to make cards to bring comfort to those often isolated in our community. Afterward\, we’ll all celebrate with lunch. This is a great opportunity for all ages to serve our community. To help us plan\, we ask that you click here and RSVP for the event. Please join us and bring a friend. \n  \nAdditionally\, in light of the recent floods in the south from Hurricane Helene\, and with the prospect of more storms on the horizon\, Fairfax UMC is collecting completed flood buckets at our Helping Hands Fest on October 19 and at worship on Sunday\, October 20. You can find instructions on how to purchase and assemble a flood bucket on the fliers in the Narthex or on the UMCOR website. After we collect the assembled buckets\, we will take them to the UMCOR depot along with the kits packed at our Helping Hands Fest.
